PHOTOMICROGRAPHY
A HUMANITIES AND BIOLOGY PRODUCTION
In this three week project, students used photomicrography techniques to highlight a variety of cell types, cell structures, and intricate patterns of cellular organization. They then projected their images to create this experiential art installation on the walls of our classroom. In biology, students explored the structure and function of cells through photography. After completing laboratory work using microscopes to examine various types of cells in our biotic world, students choose their own unique organisms/cell types to photograph using light microscopes and cameras. In humanities, students questioned why humans create art and emphasized the importance of looking at the world through alternate lenses.
